By accessing or using the website or related services, you agree to these Terms and all applicable laws. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the website or related services.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in campaign operations, legal requirements, technology, service providers, financial integrations, or website practices. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and post the revised Terms on this website. Your continued use of the website or related services after changes are posted means the updated Terms apply going forward.

Use of the website and services
The website and related services are provided for lawful campaign, civic engagement, volunteer, informational, fundraising, organizing, financial management, compliance, and public communication purposes.
You agree to use the website and related services only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with their operation, security, availability, accessibility, or integrity.
You may not use the website or related services to:
violate any law, regulation, campaign finance rule, election law, or third-party right;
attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, source code, credentials, tokens, or nonpublic information;
transmit malicious code, spam, phishing messages, automated abuse, or harmful content;
impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or submit false, misleading, or incomplete information;
scrape, harvest, copy, or collect personal information without authorization;
interfere with campaign operations, website performance, security controls, or other users;
reverse engineer, test, scan, or probe the website or related systems without written authorization;
use the website or related services for unrelated commercial purposes or unauthorized political, fundraising, or data collection activity.
We may restrict, suspend, or block access to the website or related services if we believe these Terms have been violated, if access creates security or operational risk, or if restriction is necessary to comply with law.
Forms, submissions, and user-provided information
If you submit information through the website or related services, you agree that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide it.
This may include information submitted through contact forms, donation pages, volunteer forms, endorsement forms, event registrations, surveys, petitions, pledge forms, financial account connection flows, email, text message, phone, or other communications.
You may not submit content that is unlawful, knowingly false, misleading, abusive, threatening, defamatory, invasive of another person's privacy, infringing, or otherwise harmful.
By submitting information, you understand that the Campaign may collect, use, store, retain, share, and protect that information as described in our Privacy and Data Policy.
Donations and contribution compliance
Donations made through the website may be processed by third-party fundraising platforms, payment processors, banks, compliance tools, or other service providers.
By making a contribution, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to comply with all contribution rules and certifications presented at the time of contribution.
The Campaign may collect, retain, report, disclose, refund, reject, or cancel contributions where necessary for legal, compliance, accounting, security, operational, or campaign finance reasons.

Contributions are not tax-deductible.
Contributions must be made from your own personal funds and may not be reimbursed by another person, business, committee, or entity.
Individuals may contribute only within the limits that apply to the Campaign.
The Campaign cannot accept contributions from prohibited sources, including businesses, corporations, nonprofit corporations, labor unions, partnerships, LLCs, proprietorships, firms, joint ventures, business trusts, companies, campaign committees, foreign nationals, or contributions made in the name of another person.
No goods, services, or other consideration are provided in exchange for a contribution.
If the Campaign participates in Berkeley's Public Financing Program, Berkeley resident contributions may qualify for public matching funds only if all program requirements are met.
Connected financial accounts
Some features may allow authorized users to connect financial accounts through Plaid or another financial data provider.
By choosing to connect a financial account, you authorize the applicable financial data provider to collect and share selected account information with the Campaign for the purposes described at the time of connection and in our Privacy and Data Policy.
Connected financial account information may be used for account verification, account ownership review, transaction tracking, donation and expenditure reconciliation, balance reporting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, campaign finance reporting, accounting, compliance, and related financial management functions.
We do not request or store your financial institution username or password. Financial account connections are handled through the applicable third-party financial data provider.
You are responsible for connecting only accounts that you are authorized to access and share. You may not connect an account that belongs to another person or entity unless you have authority to do so.
You may revoke access to connected financial accounts by using available account settings, disconnecting the account through the applicable service, or contacting support@aidanhill.vote.
The Campaign does not use connected financial account information for credit underwriting, lending decisions, insurance eligibility, employment screening, tenant screening, debt collection, or unrelated commercial purposes.
No financial, legal, or professional advice
The website and related services are provided for campaign, civic engagement, organizing, informational, compliance, and operational purposes.
Content on the website does not constitute legal, financial, tax, accounting, investment, or professional advice.
Any budgeting, reporting, reconciliation, compliance, or financial management tools are provided to support internal campaign and operational workflows. You remain responsible for reviewing records, verifying information, and complying with applicable legal, financial, tax, campaign finance, and reporting obligations.
Communications
If you provide your contact information, the Campaign may contact you by email, phone, text message, or similar means for campaign, volunteer, event, fundraising, civic engagement, organizing, public service, or related purposes.
Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP where available or by contacting us directly.
Campaign emails may include unsubscribe options where appropriate. You may also request removal from communications by contacting support@aidanhill.vote.
Intellectual property and campaign content
Unless otherwise stated, all content on the website and related services, including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, designs, forms, campaign materials, slogans, and other materials, is owned by the Campaign, licensed to the Campaign, or used with permission.
You may view and share campaign content for personal, informational, civic, or noncommercial campaign-support purposes.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, modify, misrepresent, or use website content for commercial purposes or in a way that falsely implies endorsement, affiliation, authorization, or approval by the Campaign.
You may not use Campaign names, marks, logos, images, candidate likenesses, slogans, or materials in a misleading way or for unauthorized fundraising, advertising, impersonation, or commercial activity.
User submissions and public materials
If you submit messages, photos, videos, endorsements, testimonials, comments, event materials, or similar content to the Campaign, you confirm that you have the right to provide that content.
You grant the Campaign permission to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, distribute, and create related materials from that content for campaign, civic engagement, organizing, fundraising, public communication, archival, and related purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing or limited by applicable law.
The Campaign may decline, edit, remove, or stop using submitted content at any time.
Artificial intelligence and automated tools
The Campaign may use artificial intelligence, machine-assisted tools, analytics tools, and other software systems in a limited, supervised, and human-reviewed role to support campaign operations, communications, research, organizing, financial management, compliance, and workflow.
AI-generated content, summaries, classifications, or recommendations are reviewed by a person before being relied upon for significant operational, financial, compliance, or public-facing decisions.
Public-facing visual content substantially generated by AI will be labeled where appropriate.

Third-party services
The website and related services may link to or integrate with third-party services, including donation platforms, payment processors, financial account connection providers, forms, maps, event tools, communications platforms, analytics tools, social media platforms, hosting providers, and other external services.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, or conduct of third-party services that we do not control.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to additional terms and requirements from those providers.

This includes damages related to interruptions, errors, delays, data loss, unauthorized access, security incidents, third-party services, inaccurate submissions, user conduct, or reliance on website content.

Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Campaign and its staff, volunteers, consultants, contractors, service providers, and representatives from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website or related services, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your submission of false or unauthorized information, or your infringement of another person's rights.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
